Simple Christmas Tree Ornament

This sweet ornament is from a swap at the SU! Hamilton Regionals. The image was stamped from Stampin' Up! "Baroque Motifs" 8 times then punched out with SU!'s scallop circle punch. It looks like the circles were scored down the middle first then each half was glued together back to back with an adjoining circle. A piece of silver elastic cord was put down through the middle and knotted with a pearl at either end leaving a loop up top to hang the ornament. Sweet and simple...I've got to get some of these made. I just had a thought, these are easy enough for my 12 year old to make as gifts for friend or teachers!

Fall Hike

Kirsty and I had a wonderful hike this fall with the nice weather. We stopped to take some pics and munch some snacks...and NO!, Kirsty is not trying to stick a dried apricot in my ear!!

Kirsty and some Stamping Art

I made this framed art for Kirsty from the April 2007 Stampin' Success Magazine. I love the way it turned out. It was fun to do and I wish I had more time to do this sort of thing. I have almost finished getting my stamp and craft room better organized so that I can be more productive in the little time that I do have.

Angus' new Football season

Angus is #53, even at 16 yrs. old he is one of the tallest guys on the Senior Football team. He is playing wide receiver this year. He managed to take down this guy with the ball and ooowwch!, where did the knee pads get to? He is ultra busy now that he has started a job at Walmart. Some days he barely stops from the time he gets up before 7am, goes to school, then football, then work until late in the evening plus homework too. Thankfully it is not every day!

Noah

Alida at 14 mnths.

I really enjoyed going to the Stampin' Up! convention in Hamilton but one of the best highlights was getting to have a visit with David and Rachel and the kids. They are growing up so fast. Alida has these gorgeous blue eyes and beautiful curls. She is such a darling little girl! Noah was moving so fast that it was hard to get a good clear picture of him. If only we could harness that energy! He has such a sweet spirit about him as he constantly struggles to contain himself. I will post a pic of him too with his first BIG tooth!

Catch'in up!!

I have a bunch of pics to share today. To start with, here is Erin's card again, but I decided to spruce it up a bit with some paper piercing in the corners (using the grid template from SU's crafter's tool kit) and to make the nice curve behind the butterfly I just used the holes on one of the swirls on the SU "Priceless" brass embossing template. I had wracked my brain where I had seen a dotted swirl and it finally occurred to me it was on the co-ordinating brass template...it was sooo easy!! I liked the end result so much I ended up using this final design for my swaps at the Stampin' Up! Hamilton convention.

Erin's B-day card

My dear daughter Erin turns 25 tomorrow. Wow, how time flies. I made this card for her with the SU "Priceless" set. Very vanilla cardstock, purely pomegranate and blue bayou inks and blue bayou double stitched ribbon. Dazzling diamonds on the butterly and heart. I stamped the BF once on the card and another separately on very vanilla. Cut out the BF and attached it with a bit of sticky strip on the body of the BF and lifted it's wings a bit. It was another quicky....seems most of my cards are that way lately. I would have liked to have added a dotted trail to the BF but ran out of that precious time as I had to get the cake iced before she arrived!

Card of Thanks

I just love the new set "Define your Life". I quickly made this card using the "Gratitude" definition and paper and die cuts from the "Just Delightful" scrappin kit from the sellabration catty this year. The definitions fit well into the Marvy Giga scallop punch then I just used some certainly celery ink sponged on the edges. Simple and quick is what I needed. This card was for a dedicated missionary who had been with us for 10 mnths. and was heading home to Utah.

These two are growing up way too fast!!

Best friends

Kirsty and Hannah have been best friends a long time and they had a great time at the beach together.

Sandcastles under construction!!

What a wonderful way to spend a birthday :)

Kirsty's 12th Birthday!!

My daughter Kirsty (my baby!) just celebrated her 12th birthday. She loved this "You're Neat" stamp set (SU) when it arrived so I thought I would use it for her card. I got playing around with the "palette o' prints" (SU) sampler and my scallop oval punch. I stamped with Lavendar Lace ink to match the paper and added some Rhinestone Ice brads (SU) and some flowers from the spring punch as well as some organdy ribbon. The ballon got some Dazzling Diamonds too. She loved the card. We went to the beach in the afternoon with her friend and had a perfect day there, I will post a couple of pics from the beach too!

Birthday Card for my Sweet Sister

I used the "Blooming with Happiness" hostess set from the 2006-07 SU catalogue and coloured the image with markers before stamping it on white, Marvy Giga Oval scallop punch and added Tempting Turquoise dots on the scallop and then dazzling Daimonds to the dots and flowers on the cake, cuttlebug embossing folder "D'vine Swirls" on the background (on T.T. cardstock). The flowery ribbon I bought by the yard from Marchant stamps in Kingston. I loved doing this card for my big sis! :)

Yummy ICECREAM!!

Alida and her Dad (my son David) sharing an icecream cone. This will make a great pic to scrap. She literally screamed to get a bite of ice cream and Daddy couldn't help but give in!

My Grand-Baby Alida

We all went to the Riverview Zoo in Peterborough during my week off and had a wonderful day. Alida really enjoyed it there. She is such a sweety!!

I am back!!

Well, after trying different medications, I am finally at the point where I am not getting as many migraines. WhooHooo!! I went for a period of 3 weeks after some surgery and medication changes, where I had a migraine every day but 2. I have hardly been able to function. Now I am getting my life back on track and hello stamp room....did you miss me?? I sure missed you!!! I did a couple of rushed cards during that time but didn't get pics taken. Oh well. Summer is here and I am hoping to enjoy life to its fullest with my family. I have tons of ideas and will be glad to have the energy to put them to paper, not to mention, to finish some scrap pages I started too long ago!

This is one of my favourite techniques. I used the "Dazzling Diamond" technique that I learned from a SCS tutorial and the effect with the "Delight in Life" SAB stamp set is beautiful.

Mini Paint can fun

These "mini" paint cans are ideal for all sorts of gift or treat giving! I got my paint cans from a friend who ordered a bunch through "Home Hardware" and they are available in other sizes as well. The mini ones were a perfect size for Valentine's day treats. You could fill them with all kinds of surprises for gifts or party favours too.

It's always the season to Love!!

O.K....so it is not Valentine's day but I am uploading some of my valentine cards and my mini paint can anyway. I figure we don't need a once a year day to show our love for one another and these can be adapted for other projects as well...from the heart!!

Hostess Gift Bag

This is a bagalope created from an 9"X12" open ended envelope (I bought a big box of them at Costco). I just stamped the designs with my Doodle This and Doodle That stamp sets and added a topper with my hostess' name done with the Doodle Alphabet. I did not want to use staples so I used my 1/8" circle punch to make 2 holes on either side to thread the organdy ribbon through. My hostess loved it and it was so easy!

Do you like it?

Do you like my new banner? I just love the colours and patterns in it. It was designed by Bethann Silaika at http://freckledfundesigns.blogspot.com and she did a fantastic job. Bethann designed my new watermark to my specifications as well. She is a great lady to deal with. I love that cute little ladybug. Do you know that when I am stamping in my special room, there is almost always a ladybug flying around and they often land on my paper, it is so weird!

Wow...this is my first post!

Here it is just after 9 p.m. and I have to get up early for work tomorrow. This whole blog thing is new to me! I have been looking at other blogs created by very talented stampers and I hope that I can share some inspiration as well.
Welcome to my new blog!!
